NEW chip in
I have created another chip-in due to this one ending and people assuming he was safe , he is NOT safe till he is homed and fully recovered ..Please see new chip-in..all funds have been used for medical expenses / boarding/ and food etc. Hercules may go to Seattle, so some of these funds will be used for that as well. Right now he has used up most of his funds, but has enough left over to help him through until he leaves to Seattle. Of course if nothing happens..PLEASE SEE OTHER CHIP-IN FOR MORE INFO..Thank you all for your help and support ..any questions regarding this chipin please contact me by phone 817-915-3767 Thanks
TO KEEP UP WITH HERCULES AND HIS UPDATES GO HERE-- http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hercules-I-am-free/160934827301720 UPDATE: 04-20-11 Hercules SURGERY & Boarding Cost
On 04-07-11 I had to take Hercules to boarding , due to my dogs catching URI.. Per vet stated that I remove Hercules from my home ASAP due to him recovering from HW treatment , it would be hurtful for him to also catch URI .. so I did. He has been in boarding since then. Boarding facility/vet number is 817-370-5566 South Meadow Animal Clinic if you prefer to donate there total cost for that is $300.00.
Surgery has been scheduled for 04-25-11 that will consist of BIOPSY / NEUTER AND TUMOR REMOVAL. Cost for this procedure is $452.00. As we all know the results for biopsy is about a week so depending on the results I can NOT estimate anymore charges. His surgery will not be done at above vet info, it will be done @ 817-478-1515 if you prefer to donate directly. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS CHIP-IN WAS CREATED TWO MONTHS AGO, SO FUNDS HAVE BEEN USED FOR VETTING X 3 EST. AMOUNT $600.00 THAT INCLUDES HIS HW TREATMENT BOARDING X 3 = $840.00 (once my dogs are completely healed he will come home to me again) FOOD x 4 -$200.00 he is on a special pre (does not include biopsy/neuter and tumor removal & micro-chip) biopsy results take about a week, so I can not estimate anymore vet charges until then. NOTE: Transport cost are not included as well, he will be flown to Seattle. My contact info is 817-915-3767 if you have further questions regarding the above info.. UPDATE 04-01-11 PLEASE READ BEFORE DONATING
DONATIONS:
Many have asked how much more funds do I need, I can't answer that, cause I don't know. Not sure what will happen from now till then. Depending on how he does during the course of his recoup from HW treatment and future surgery. So if you would like to hold off on donating , I understand. I would hate to take away from other dogs that may need it, and Hercules would too. Right now we should be fine and it would be all up to you what you decide. Hercules may have to go in for another vet visit , because he has lost weight ,it happened while in boarding :( he also looks like he is growing another knot on his private which is devastating for me..if I have to keep him another month I will, but just want everyone to understand the urgency was finding him a place to go.but being that no one stepped up , I did.. I appreciate all of you!! Thank You so much from the bottom of my heart!! Hercules would also like to say THANK YOU!!! UPDATE: 03-30-11 I spoke with DDB- Washington and their offer is still open for Hercules. So what this means , is he will go there (not sure exactly when) ..of course between now and then if someone offers to RESCUE or ADOPT him local that would be great. He is staying with me until we can figure it all out. No foster offered or was available and I didn't want to put him back in boarding :(. Due to him having HW treatment it was best that he stay in a calm environment, as we all know boarding facilities can be noisy. I am truly grateful for all of your donations and support. I apologize for sounding rude below, but felt that I had to mention it. Most people don't realize how hard it is when you save a pit-bull, and then to try and place them is even harder especially with medical conditions. DDB offered to take him in, and we are working out that out. I have never sent a dog out so far, so this will be hard on me, as I have grown attached to him (I'm the worst foster). I knew from the start I would never leave his sight, from the time I took him off his chain till now. For some reason I felt he would end up with me and I had no choice but to bring him home. Boarding only made him uncomfortable and expensive. He even lost weight :( I want whats best for him, and I know I am doing just that. The thought of him living life on a chain, and at this very moment being LOVED and CARED for.. couldn't make me any happier!!! we couldn't of done this without all your support. Thank You!!! PENDING TREATMENT : Surgery for tumor removal and neuter. He has to wait one month from the time of his HW treatment 03-22-11 , before he can have his surgery . He will go back for a vet check-up soon and a few ..will also be micro-chipped UPDATE: 03-24-11
Hercules finally had his HW treatment on 03-21-11 and is doing fine, but we have a problem. The boarding facility where he was at forgot to write down he would be gone for two days and then return. When I took him back yesterday, his spot had been filled, which meant I had to take him to another boarding facility at last minute! I was able to find one , the only problem it's way more expensive than where he was at. I am hoping for someone to step up and foster him, originally quoted this before I removed him off his chain. I knew that their were going to be medical issues due to the fact he was chained (not sure for how long) and coughing. I also noticed the large knot on his private, so I was debating ..it is a BIG responsibility when getting a dog off the chain, and my resources are not as large as others. I did what I felt needed to be done since Hercules was in danger. The large knot turned out to be a tumor, that can turn into cancer if not removed (per vet). Just a reminder many people wanted him off his chain, and I put myself in danger as well when removing him. All I'm asking for this chip-in be circulated ..I can NOT afford all cost and surly some of the people that offered, has since disappeared, which I am disappointed , but not surprised.
MEDICAL TREATMENT DONE: Hw Medical Treatment needed: Surgery for tumor/neuter Keep in mind that boarding now is @ $25.00 I am searching for a cheaper boarding facility ..will update furthur ... I apologize if I sound rude, but I am only being honest. I received over a hundred emails when he was on his chain, now I haven't heard anything ... UPDATE:03-18-11
Hercules has a scheduled appt. for MON 03-21-11 for HW treatment. Please keep in mind he still needs his surgery for removal of mass on private (see photo below).
Hercules was a pit bull living life on a chain (not sure how long) and now off his chain, I have taken the responsibility from that point (with offers of people wanting to help) if I removed him. Hercules has been in boarding since March 3, 2011 @ $15.00 a day. So estimated amount as of today is $240.00 not including the initial vet visit. Please continue to circulate this chip-in so that he can continue to stay safe. No fosters available so boarding is or was the only option. No rescues have offered at this point, except DDB in Washington. This is an ON-GOING chip-in until he finds a forever home or rescue (if local). NOTE: chip-in amount shows $1000 money has been taken out for vetting etc. I visit Hercules every other day to keep him happy. Boarding is not idea for me, but because no one can take him in at this point, this is the only option. Most of his vet visits are far from where I live , so gas money is used if needed. UPDATE: 03-09-11
No treatment started as of today 03-09-11. Fri 03-11-11 he will go to one more vet visit for a consultation for HW treatment (price a little cheaper at this vet) once we find out if he can have the arsenic hw treatment then we will do it there. If no foster is available during that time he will be in boarding (boarding will pay close attention) after treatment.
If I choose the slow kill (alternative treatment) the heart-worms can stay in his heart for up to six years, so I would like to do whats best for him. Once HW treatment is done then we wait a few weeks per vet to have the tumor removed and neuter will be done at the same time. Per vet he will be in pain after surgery , so keeping a close eye would be the best bet. All of the above can take up to one month depending when the surgery dates can be scheduled and how fast he will recover. Rescue Status: DDB of Washington has offered to take him in, of course if a local rescue is found then he will stay, but since no one has offered more then likely he will go with DDB if foster or permanent home is available with DDB. Being that I would be sending out a dog this far I would require that he in fact has a foster available. Per Kelly they do. Vet Info: Rendon Rd. Animal Clinic 13055 Rendon. Rd Burleson, TX 76028 (817)478-1515 Thank you all for your support and prayers..for Hercules UPDATE: 03-03-11
Today, I removed him off his chain!! I took him to the vet and results were: He is HW+ and has a tumor (showed in photo below) on his private. The tumor needs to be removed ASAP and his hw treatment will need to be done before the tumor removal. All estimated charges include. Surgery and Neuter & HW treatment ranging $800.00 and up, not including boarding. I am looking around for cheaper prices, but don't want to wait too long.
Keep in mind as I stated in my previous post, the real saving begins when he is released of his chain. I knew that something would be going on with him medically due to his coughing, and knot on his private. I also stated he would be a BIG responsibility once removed. Now that he is I hope we can get the support needed.. VET INFO: Rendon Rd. Animal Clinic 13055 Rendon. Rd Burleson, TX 76028 (817)478-1515 to donate to his care if you feel more comfortable doing so. VET Services he received today were --Hw test, all vaccinations including for Boarding. and Physical exam.. At this point none of the above services are RESCUE discounts ..therefore everything charged is regular price. Above estimations are from one vet, as it can change during the time he is awaiting RESCUE. I'm FREE!!!! Photos of Hercules leaving his chain and at the vet!
![]() ![]() UPDATE: 03-02-11
As of today, no foster yet , I wait anxiously for this cute boy and can't wait any longer. So my plan is to pick him up tomorrow and take him to the vet (info below) I'm taking another pittie (emaciated) today. So I'm very busy. If no foster is found by tomorrow he will have to go to boarding which is $15.00 a day..he will get groomed once a week and be treated really well. and I personally know these people and trust them with Hercules. Now there is someone in Washington that will take him in, but I'm not sure yet depending on the vet visit???
VET INFO: Rendon Animal Clinic (817)478-1515 BURLESON, TX make sure when you call you state Hercules name and Judy obregon acct..NO RESCUE RATES are available at this vet. |
